Retail therapy Nannette style!!

Saturday started out disgustingly wet, so I was very dissapointed as we were headed to our favorite motorcycle shop out of town to test ride a bike or two....

When we got there we worked out my options as I am still a provisional rider and have a bike size restriction. i.e I am not allowed legally to ride a 1000cc bike... The biggest is a 650cc bike and it depends on the make as to what I can ride size wise also.... I had realised that it just wasnt practical for me to buy the SV650 that I fell in love with on my last post.... so went with the legal option....

Ok... First bike off the ranks was this Honda VTR 250cc:

Verdict... Yeah looked ok, but horrid to ride... it was all over the place with dodgy suspension.. I know it was second hand but only had about 23,000 on the clock... A little dissapointed in this one... Ok whats next...... Kawasaki gpx.... Hmmmm

OK.. as soon as they sarted it I didnt like it.... It sounded like a frikkin lawnmower... But I took it for a run anyway.... Handled well (weather was rooly shit it was showering and windy as all hell) but the throttle kept sticking on... not good when trying to ride and not get knocked about by gale force winds... No way could I stand listening to that noise either... ikkkk

Nope strike 2.... what else do you have.....

I wanted to test ride this Hyosung 650r but they didnt have one...pftttttttt well that stuffed that idea...

So by this stage I was talking to the owner of the shop and I said is there anything else here that I can ride????
He asked if I had looked at the Kawasaki Ninjas.... I said no..are the LAM's Approved??? And he said yes... Lead the way.....
Omg... Oh My God.....
I think I like.....
Can I take one out.... hmmm they are all brand spanka... only 2km on the clock..... no demo's... damn... oh I suppose so as long as you dont go too far... yippeeeeee
Well I dont like the colour...
Hmmmm ok... I think I like this.... only a 250cc.... but feels good..I can touch the ground... Got lots of power... very twitchy.... loves cornering....(almost as much as I do...) hmmm damn.... makes it hard....
Went back and talked with Mark... He says... do what you want.... Yeah he likes the ninja... but liked the blue one better... I definitely dont like the green... But I think I like the red....
Oh I dont know....
Talked to owner about trading my Trude in....
Bye bye Trude....

Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo NINJA.......

Here it is how it looked tonight when they wheeled her in to my bbq area....

Oh I couldnt have a new bike and not have a new matching helmet now could I....(my old one was a cheapy and was too loose now....Dangerous if I had an accident.. So did the right thing and bought a good one...

So deal done and tonight they delivered my new ninja and took my Trude away to a good home...
Funny thing is that when I was test riding the Ninja Mark was talking to a couple that were in the hunt for a second hand intruder.... Mark got thier number and and said we would contact them depending on what we ended up doing...( still wasnt sure about trading or keeping Trude or buying Ninja and selling Trude ourselves etc....)
We ended up trading Trude in and we rang them to let the couple know that the bike would be back at the shop for sale through the week.... (long story short :we said they could come to the house to look at my bike as we only had the car at the bike shop, so they came and looked yesterday and then rang the bike shop this morning and have bought it before the bike hit the shop!) No skin off my nose as I got back what I paid for it through the trade in...

So now I have to wait for the frikkin rain to stop so I can get it out!!! Woooooooohoooooo I am quite excited... Just the sort of retail shopping I like....
Now I am broke.... And I have a 4 day holiday coming up soon too... *sniff* Will be a budget trip I am thinking... Just as well I have paid flights and accomodation already or it would have been park benches for us.. hahaha
Well you deserve a medal if you got this far....
A day in the life of Nannette.... ;o)

My hubby has a green ninja and he loves it. He is off on a rally to Portland, Victoria in November.

Congratulations on your new purchase.

That. Is. HOT!

Bloody gorgeous bike Nan and your helmet is smokin'.

For the record Scott has the Hyosung in the yellow. I still get flutters when I see him ride up the road.

Just showed Scott this post. He says "That little Quacker Ninja is nice, but c'mon it's traditionally supposed to be green - not red! LOL. I guess I don't need to point out the feeling of two wheeled freedom. Fantastic isn't it?"

Can he not see how pretty you are on the red one? Sheesh. Boys.
